After all the recent rain I am more appreciative of sunshine, glad for something other than uniform damp gray. I am not taking sunny days for granted, spending more time admiring the sky.
I was delighted at this sunset that seemed like a volcanic eruption of color. The mountain is really just catching the last light of the setting sun behind it, also spreading onto the clouds. But it looked like the clouds were fiery lava spilling down the slope.
Most of my photography I tend to be looking down, pointing a macro lens at the ground or only a few feet high. I am always fascinated by tiny details I otherwise wouldn’t notice. But sometimes it is nice to see a whole sky full of an amazing palette and enjoy nature’s amazing artwork on the planet’s largest canvas.
