Lake Clouds

18Aug2015
As I stood on the shore taking photos of this mountain lake the surface was suddenly ruffled by a big but brief breeze. For just a minute, there were wild patterns of clouds reflected in the water, and then it grew still again. I took a few photos of the water’s surface before it resumed its normal reflective pattern. I shot this at a high shutter speed, 1/1000, to freeze the pattern of clouds. I like the surreal feel of blue sky and white cloud orbs dotting the dark water, nature’s abstract art.
