Welcome to Wild Portraits

Wild Portraits is a company that designs and builds software for creative professionals and also distributes content. The content displayed on WildPortraits.com is a website designed to share my interest in nature photography, and a desire for wildlife preservation and appreciation. To this end, I believe that encouraging photographers to focus on wildlife will inspire an interest in the natural world, and further encourage an urge to conserve it. Nature photography may be used to educate about wildlife and their need for protection. This occurs on two levels. In sharing my photos, I hope that by providing background information on plants, animals, and their habitats, people can learn more about them, and also determine how and where to photograph and find them in their own neck of the woods. Second, by taking usually pretty pictures (and occasionally ugly- to show habitat destruction and other environmental perils) I hope to raise awareness of nature and its steady loss to development and other pressures. The website is designed to inspire people to appreciate the wonder of nature in their own backyards. And ultimately to inspire a new generation of nature photographers, to carry on the message that we need nature as much as nature needs us.
